RECEPTION ONLY? by ADENIJI MOYOSORE

Nigerians love wedding receptions like kilode! (I’m also guilty as charged! #smhandrollingmyeyes) A majority of those who are invited for a wedding ceremony including those who are not invited always successfully make it for the reception whereas, they were obviously absent during the joining of the couple (which is the main thing) at the church. All they are interested in is the ‘owambe’ session where they get to eat, dance, take home souvenirs and make merry.

In the same vein, many of us who claim to be Christians are not so into the part where we are joined and become one with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ; we are not interested in the part where we have an intimate and loving relationship with God….all we wanna do is just make it to heaven and be a part of the greatest reception ever, the Marriage Supper of the Lamb! I wish it was that easy beloved, but it isn’t (#whew)!

The wedding proper i.e. the joining together between the bride and the groom comes before the reception, without this, there would be no reception in the first place. Hence, beloved, don’t go thinking that whenever your life’s journey is over, you would be privy to attending the Marriage Supper of the Lamb (‘the reception’) without first attending the wedding ceremony where you are joined and surrender your life to your Bridegroom, Jesus Christ.

In Heaven and on the last day, those who have not surrendered their lives to Christ or have an intimate relationship with HIM, those who have not being fully involved in the ‘wedding ceremony’ between themselves and the Lover of their Souls would have no seats reserved for them at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb (the grandest reception ever!)…If you fall in this category, please do the needful today by surrendering your life to Christ…HE loves you sooooo much!!!

Shalom!!!
